Cookie policy

Last updated: 1 May 2026

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies Proofix uses and why. For background, see our Privacy Policy.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser when you visit a website. They enable the website to remember information between requests (for example, a language preference or a login session). Similar technologies include localStorage andsessionStorage.

2. Our approach: strictly necessary only

Proofix does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics. We do not need your consent for the cookies we use because they are strictly necessary to operate the Service (Art. 5(3) ePrivacy Directive / Art. 45c Swiss TCA FMG).

3. Cookies and storage items we use

NameTypePurposeRetention
proofix_sessionCookie (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict)Maintains your verified email session while sending a transfer.30 minutes
proofix-localelocalStorageRemembers your language preference (EN / DE).Until cleared

4. No third-party cookies

We do not embed advertising scripts, social-media widgets, or behavioural analytics. The only third party contacted during a payment flow is Stripe, and only when you actively start a paid proof transfer. Stripe’s cookie usage is described in its own cookie policy.

5. Managing cookies

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time from your browser settings. Doing so will log you out of any active transfer session and reset your language preference.

6. Changes

We will update this policy if we change the cookies we use. The date at the top reflects the latest revision.
